“The growth-minded athletes…”

โ€œThe growth-minded athletes, CEOs, musicians, or scientists all loved what they did, whereas many of the fixed-minded ones did not.

Many growth-minded people didnโ€™t even plan to go to the top. They got there as a result of doing what they love. Itโ€™s ironic: The top is where the fixed-mindset people hunger to be, but itโ€™s where many growth-minded people arrive as a by-product of their enthusiasm for what they do.

This point is also crucial. In the fixed-mindset, everything is about the outcome. If you failโ€”or if youโ€™re not the bestโ€”itโ€™s all been wasted. The growth mindset allows people to value what theyโ€™re doing regardless of the outcome. โ€

Carol Dweck

Love what you do, it makes it all a whole lot easier.

And again, it is a choice, and thus within your sphere of control & influence.

Stated otherwise & eloquently by Ayn Rand, George Leonard, Tom Morris.
